NAARCA Pedagogy Toolkit Commission Announcement

Following an open call, we are pleased to announce that NAARCA’s Pedagogy Toolkit Commission has been awarded to Maraid Mcewan.

Maraid Mcewan is a London based creative researcher, designer and artist exploring social impact and care through collaboration. She expresses the importance of designing with young people, specifically under-represented groups and is driven by a desire to utilise creativity as a tool to reimagine and reconceptualise our emotions.  Her work is diverse in its outputs, ranging from sculpture, photography, installation, experiential and interaction design, graphic design, design research methods and workshop facilitation. 

Maraid held the position of designer in residence at the Young Victoria and Albert Museum in 2022 exploring mindfulness with young people in London, creating design workshops, soundscapes and practical toolkits. Maraid holds a double masters in Global Innovation Design from the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London, and has developed a unique design approach that fuses design, art and research. Currently Maraid is exploring ecofeminist perspectives in all of her work, investigating the interplay between identity, place and climate action. She believes in the importance of creativity when developing innovative approaches to youth climate action and hopes to utilise this knowledge in this new and exciting role at NAARCA!
